R.I.P Wes Craven!

I was so sad to hear of Wes Craven's passing. He was such a great man in the horror community! As a kid, one of the first movies that really hooked me on horror was Nightmare On Elm Street. There was also Friday The 13th and Halloween but Nightmare On Elm Street was one of the earliest I remember seeing other then this carnival one when I was about 6 or 7.

I remember watching Nightmare On Elm Street with a friend and he was scared so we made booby traps all over the living room in case Freddy came hahaha. Such good memories :-).

I also had a poster on the outside of my bedroom door that scared my mom to death! She had to walk past my room to get to the bathroom in the apartment so she hated that poster! It was the one where Freddy was holding a skull in his knife glove hand. I think it might be a rare poster because I can't even find it online anywhere. Too bad I don't still have it! We moved a lot so I lost a lot of my stuff over the years...I think my mom lost that one on purpose though lol.

Well, I will see you in my nightmare's Wes!

Freaky Friday Finds: Frightlings!

So today as I was perusing  Instagram I came across an account for Frightlings and I am so glad I did. I absolutely LOVE their product line! This is one of the reasons I love the internet. You can find awesome things you would have never found if you hadn't had the ability to view things from all over and be connected to other like minded people.

Anyway's, Frightlings makes Sterling Silver charms of these spooky little characters that are creepy and adorable! I will definitely be putting them on my wishlist! They have everything from ghost to voodoo dolls!  I would like to get the Italian Charm Bracelet collection...so cute!
They also have tote bags and other things with their artwork. Love it!

Which charm is your favorite? What shop's have you found?

Horror Lover's Bucket List

I am a big fan of dreaming big and having visuals to remind myself of what I want to accomplish and what I want to do. I have my regular dream board for all my career and life goals and then I have a specific one for my Horror/Halloween related goals...I know....I'm weird but I embrace my weirdness ;-)

There are just so many things I want to do in regards to Horror/Halloween time that it is only understandable to organize those thoughts into a list. So without further ado (cue drum roll) here is my list!

  • Go on SCARY hayride
  • Decorate my yard with LOTS of pumpkins like in Trick R' Treat
  • Build a coffin out of wood
  • Have a Horror Movie Marathon Party
  • Meet Stephen King or other horror authors
  • Meet Robert England, Kane Hodder, Elvira, and other horror movie icons
  • Do a paranormal investigation
  • Create a super scary house for Halloween
  • Throw a costume party
  • Start writing horror stories again
  • Do a Halloween maze
  • Go on a Halloween road trip
  • Grow my Horror movie collection
  • Grow my Horror book collection
  • Have a movie theater with horror movie posters and collectibles/memorabilia
  • Bake more Halloween inspired goodies
  • Go to a Horror Convention
  • Go to a Haunt Convention
  • Build a horror themed custom car or hearse
  • Visit Marie Laveau's Tomb
  • Visit Ghost Bar in Japan
This is what I have so far.I will be adding to this list so check back every so often. Will I be able to do all these, I don't know but a girl can dream (and work towards it) :-)! I do know it will be fun trying!

What is your Halloween/Horror Bucket List?

The Houses October Built

I really liked this movie! I know there is a huge divide on the subject of found footage films but I am kind of on middle ground. Some are good some not so good. This one I liked a lot! It is more unique and it is a very spooky idea. Kind of like be careful what you wish for.

The storyline is these 5 friends go on a Extreme Haunt Roadtrip in an RV. They are looking for the most hardcore haunts around, the underground one's that they are hoping will offer up a real scare. They stop at multiple Haunts before the Haunt finds them. The cool thing is that they use real Haunts in this movie! Very cool and unique...at least I think so ;-).

Now can I just say, HOW AWESOME would it be to go on a Halloween Roadtrip? For me that would be so much fun! I wouldn't only do haunted houses though, I would do a mix of historically creepy sites as well as just plain old fun places like haunted houses, pumpkin patches and Halloween stores.

What could possibly be better than a roadtrip and Halloween thrown into one? Although, I wouldn't want it to end they way it did for those 5 friends in The Houses October Built lol.

So have you watched this movie yet and if so, what did you think about it?
